On Monday, December 3, the children of Cahir Park Pre-School took a bus trip around the town of Cahir.
For most it was their first time in a mini bus and they felt very excited and grown up.
The first stop was at the Post Office where all the children got a stamp and posted the letters that they had written to Santa. All the staff in the post office were very helpful and they had a special post box for the letters to the North Pole.
They then went to visit Cahir Castle, where Hazel met them and gave the children a mini tour of the castle. The children loved the canon guns and the canon ball that was stuck in the wall, from a long, long, time ago. They also found the model of the castle very interesting.
Next they drove around the town and saw the Fire Station, the train station, the library and the BIG school. Their last call was to the Garda Station and Garda Brendan came out to the bus and talked to them about the station.
All the children really enjoyed their bus trip around the town and were very well behaved. This trip could not have happened if we did not have the parents and volunteers to come with us. I think they also enjoyed it .
The children now know a lot more about their lovely town of Cahir, and the people who work in the community.
