Cllr Greene was first elected to Waterford Co. Council in 1999 and represents the Comeragh Electoral Area, which covers the Waterford communities in Carrick-on-Suir’s hinterland.

The Fine Gael councillor served as County Mayor of Waterford in 2006/2007 and is currently the interim chairperson of the new Waterford Wexford Education Training Body, which replaced the Waterford and Wexford VECs. She has chaired Deise Link, Waterford’s Rural Transport Committee since its inception in 2004.

Cllr Greene also chairs Rathgormack Community & Hiking Centre Committee and her local Community Alert Body.
