The proceeds of the hugely successful Aherlow House Hotel ‘Moonlight Walk’,E10.507, was handed over recently to the chosen recipients this year.
Again the event was a massive success and a most enjoyable social occasion greatly supported by the West Tipperary commuinity.
One of the organisers of the event Laura Sweeney thanked members of the public for their willingness to support the event on an annual basis which has raised so much money in recent years.
“It is great to be part of such a lovely event and work with great ladies, over the moon with the support and turn out. Very pleased to work for and with Scoil Aonghusa” she said.
Scoil Aonghusa Principal Siobhan Keys said “ We are absolutely delighted with the event and it was so enjoyable. Delighted to be the beneficiaries”.
The Aherlow House Hotel annual women only ‘Moonlight Walk’ took place in June in aid of Scoil Aonghusa Special National School, Cashel. Over the past number of years, the Aherlow House Hotel Moonlight Walk has raised over €80,000 for various charities, including the Marie Keating Foundation and The Jack and Jill Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis.
Scoil Aonghusa Special National School, Cashel was the chosen charity for 2013. At Scoil Aonghusa, they provide an educational environment that promotes the development of the whole child, body and mind, in a nurturing, stimulating and happy setting. The school was established in 1978 for children with Moderate General Learning Difficulties (GLD). Now catering for three designated areas of learning ability
Moderate GLD,Severe / Profound GLD and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
The evening began with an open air concert on the balcony of Aherlow House entertainment provided by the CJ Kickham Brass and Reed Band before the emotional “Balloon Wish “ event and walk.
