The Rapunzel foundation makes wigs for children who have lost their hair through illnesses.

Loren will donate her hair to Rapunzel and the money raised, over E600 with funds still coming in, to Diabetes Ireland.

Loren had been growing her hair for nearly two years and her friends did not want her to cut if off.

“Of course i will miss it but I think of the kids who have lost all their hair and knowing that mine might make some of them feel better makes it easier for me,” said Loren.

The hair was cut off at Hair FX, a hair salon in Tipp town owned by her mother Anne Marie.

“We are all very proud of Loren. She was a bit emotional afterwards,it completely changed her appearance.I think its marvellous what she did.She did it because she was aware of the specific needs of children with cancer and she was very happy that she did it because it was for a very good cause,” said Anne.
