Santa will be visiting the Cashel Plaza this Saturday, December 7, as the special guest of the Cashel Chamber of Commerce.
“We’ll have all sorts of things to do, with seasonal crafts to enjoy in the Heritage Centre, activities in the library and of course Santa on the Plaza. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Cashel Christmas lights,” said Chamber President Sean Laffey. “It’s a great day and the traditional start to the Christmas trading in Cashel and of course we are encouraging everyone to shop local over the next three weeks. We’d also like to encourage traders and community groups to take over any vacant shop fronts over the next month to give the town a festive feeling. I’m delighted that many shops are already decked out for Christmas and it is a credit to the traders and the town that Cashel is already looking so well.”
Santa will chat to children in the back room of Mikey Ryan’s from 1pm , with seasonal music on the Plaza. Around 4.30pm the Christmas lights will be switched on. Leave letters to Santa in the postbox in the Heritage Centre or chat with one of the elves. A visit to Santa’s Grotto costs €10, with a discount for families of three or more children.
