This weekend is Happy Heart Weekend and Clonmel volunteers are gearing up to paint their town red with happy hearts to help raise vital funds for the Irish Heart Foundation.
Sponsored by Lidl Ireland, with support from 2FM and the Irish Daily Star, the national charity fighting heart disease and stroke is on a mission to raise a half a million Euro towards a national heart attack awareness campaign to help save more lives.
Southeast Regional Fundraising Manager Anne Riordan said: “Nearly everyone knows someone affected by heart attack. In fact six people die every day from it but the good news is that you can make a difference. It’s never too late to volunteer to sell happy hearts so even if you can spare a couple of hours, you can bring us closer to our goal. Remember, every happy heart sold could help save the life of someone you know in the near future”.
