The return of the good, old-fashioned family Fun Day on the June Bank Holiday Weekend at Mother Hubbards Cashel will support Scoil Aonghusa and the Nagle Centre in Cashel as well as the Tipperary Branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association.

A small ‘ad hoc committee’ meeting at Mother Hubbards has decided to run a Good Old Fashioned Family Fun Day there.

The project, the brainchild of Caroline Ronan, the manager of Mother Hubbards Cashel, will feature craft stalls, bands playing, including St. Patrick’s Brass Band, bouncy castles, traditional side shows and a Wheel of Fortune.

Edmond O’Dwyer of the Nagle Centre said: “It’s going to be a great fun-day-out and will support local charities. It is not going to cost families a fortune, we are going back to the tradition of a family fun day out and with the recession it could end up being a brilliant thing and this might run for years”.

Geraldine Maher of Scoil Aonghusa is full of praise for Caroline and Mother Hubbards. She said; “They are our neighbours and we have a good relationship with them. There is a great friendship between the two places and we are thrilled to be involved in fund-raising with them. Our pupils visit Mother Hubbards on occasion to use the restaurant”.

Caroline said of the committee that they are “buzzing, making plans and hoping the Family Fun Day will be a great success. “Mother Hubbards are doing a lot of the co-ordinating and over the coming weeks they will be putting signs on all roads leading to Cashel. It will be a day for families and community to get together, have fun and raise much needed funds for Scoil Aonghusa, The Nagle Centre and the Wheelchair Association.”

Caroline’s boss, Paddy Sweeney, is fully behind the project and has put up the main prizes for the raffle – tickets are E2 a line and cards are already available in the community.

The Nagle Centre, Scoil Aonghusa and The Wheelchair Association have lots of friends in the local community and look forward to greeting them and would really love to share this event with you and your family.

Come out and enjoy the Bank Holiday Weekend, support your community, raise money for great causes and enjoy the craic at Mother Hubbards. See you there.
