More than 100 students, teachers and members of the Cahir community took part in a fun cycle to raise funds for Colaiste Dun Iascaigh’s sports teams.

The 60km cycle left the school at 10am and visited many of the towns that students and staff live in including Kilcoran, Burncourt, Clogheen, Goatenbridge, Newcastle, Ardfinnan and back to Cahir. While the cycle was hard and exhausting, everybody who completed the mammoth trek enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

The cyclists were greeted by many well-wishers as they travelled the highways and byways of the area.

This was a true community effort and showed the great convivial spirit and togetherness that exists within the school community and between the Colaiste and the local communities.

Partaking in the event were many members of the recently victorious Girls’ All-Ireland A football champions, who cycled to ensure that the support they received was reciprocated.

Thanks to the Gardaí and Red Cross. Special congratulations go to Darius Delahunty and Paul Ryan, who put a huge effort into organising the event.
