Time to renew faith at St Mary's Parish retreat

A parish retreat for St Mary's Parish in Cahir begins on Saturday and will continue until Saturday, December 18.

A parish retreat for St Mary's Parish in Cahir begins on Saturday and will continue until Saturday, December 18.

The retreat will be on the theme of "Renewing Faith and Life – Reflecting on Christian Living" and the preacher will be Fr John Littleton, The Priory Institute, Tallaght, Dublin.

Opening Mass of the retreat will be celebrated on Saturday at 7.30pm and there will be Masses on Sunday at 8am, 10am and 11.30am.

Retreat sessions, including Mass, will take place from next Monday, December 13 to next Friday, December 17 at 7am, 10am and 7.30pm. There will be a penitential service instead of evening Mass at 7.30pm on Thursday, December 16.

Confessions will be heard before and after each session.

Closing Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 18 at 7.30pm.

Masses: Sacrament of the Sick will be celebrated during the 10am Mass this Saturday, December 18.

Masses are celebrated in the parish church at 10am from Monday to Friday and are broadcast on Radio 107FM. The Saturday Vigil Mass is celebrated at 7.30pm while Sunday Masses are celebrated at 8am, 10am and 11.30am.

Readers for Masses this weekend are Barbara O'Brien, who will read at the 7.30pm Saturday Vigil Mass, Sr Margaret, who will read at 10am Mass on Sunday and Chris O'Shea, who will read at 11.30am Mass on Sunday.

Other sacrements and prayers: Confessions are heard on Saturday after 10am Mass and The Rosary is recited before 10am Mass.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Monday after 10am Mass to 7pm and Friday after 10am Mass to 3.30pm and is followed by the Hour of Prayer to 4.30pm with Devotion of Divine Mercy at 3pm.

Mass on Friday at 10am is for the Holy Souls and for the intentions of all those who contribute to the Holy Souls Box.

An Intercession for Priests prayer meeting takes place each Tuesday at 7.30pm. Contact Mary Hennessy for more information.

Sick in Hospital: If anyone is a patient in hospital, please inform the priests of the parish so that a visit can be organised.

Notice of Marriage: Couples intending to get married must give a minimum of three months notice to the Parish Priest and Civil Registrar. This applies to parishioners getting married in this parish or another parish. A pre-marriage course run by ACCORD is recommended.
