Due to severe weather and road conditions experienced in the local area last week, the senior citizens Christmas Party had to be cancelled. However, it has now been re-scheduled for Sunday December 12th at 1.30pm. It is hoped that the day will be filled with fun and get everyone into the festive mood before Christmas approaches.


The celebration night for winning the Pride of Place Competition also fell victim to weather conditions and this joyous occasion will now take place at a later date.

A sincere word of gratitude is extended to everyone who supported the Fun Run and Treasure Hunt to Darby's Bed held recently. A sum of E210 was collected on this occasion.


The Bord na nOg Club will hold their Annual AGM this week. The Club is very strong at underage level in the area, but it requires more parents to get involved in the running of the Club and helping out in the transportation of players to games and events. The senior club have requested that patrons complete their contributions to the County Development Draw as soon as possible.


Prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Jim Corbett (Ballyfruta and formerly of Garnalina, Galbally) who was interred during the past week. We extend our sincere condolences to his wife, family, extended relatives and friends on their sad loss.


The Moorehaven Annual Christmas Fayre will take place at the Centre, Tipperary on Saturday December 11th from 10am – 5pm. This is always a very enjoyable day out for all the family with a visitation of Santa to his designed grotto. There will be a display of the full range of crafts, plus a monster raffle and many more attractions. Everyone is welcome on this special day
