The annual ‘Moonlight Walk’ will take place on June 22, and this year it will raise funds for Scoil Aonghusa Special National School.

Scoil Aonghusa provides an educational environment that promotes the development of the whole child, body and mind, in a nurturing, stimulating and happy setting. The school was established in 1978 for children with moderate general learning difficulties (GLD) and now caters for three areas of learning ability: moderate GLD, severe/ profound GLD and autistic spectrum disorder.

This women only walk begins with a concert on the balcony of Aherlow House at 8pm with the CJ Kickham Brass and Reed Band. Starting at 9pm with the “Balloon Wish,” the walk takes about an hour through a woodland route. It finishes back at the hotel with each walker rewarded with a glass of champagne.

Ladies are asked to raise €50, but are encouraged to raise more! Sponsorship cards can be collected from Aherlow House Hotel or the organising committee. Contact Aherlow House Hotel on 06256153 or reservations@aherlowhouse.ie.
