Dr Dermot Clifford, Archbishop of Cashel and Emly has made a number of clerical appointments in the Archdiocese which will be effective from September 7/8.

The appointment see well known Very Rev Canon Liam Ryan, to be Pastor Emeritus in Killenaule and Moyglass; Very Rev Joseph Delaney to be AP, Newport, Birdhill and Toor; Very Rev Canon Thomas J Ryan to be AP Murroe and Boher; and Very Rev Seamus Rochford to be AP Emly.

Tributes have been paid to the departing clerics in their various parishes for the huge contributions made to the spiritual, emotional, educational and in many cases physical development of their locality. The priests had built up personal links with the parishioners and had helped them through many difficult times over the years. They will be very sad to see them go, but have wished them well.

Of course, the changes also see new appointments to parishes and these priests will be welcomed with open arms as they prepare to begin their ministry in new surrounds. They will be introduced to their parishes officially on Saturday/Sunday September 7th and 8th as they bid farewell to their old friends and say
hello to their new ones.
