Carrick Town Council is drawing up a plan of improvement works for the neighbourhood around Ormond Castle.
News of the proposed Ormond Castle Quarter Improvement Plan was revealed at the Council’s budget meeting.
Town Manager Pat Slattery said it was a tourism initiative designed to enhance this area to encourage more people to visit it. Cllr Patsy Fitzgerald asked Council management to ensure community groups and others interested in this area’s development were consulted during the plan’s preparation. Town Clerk Michael O’Brien said he would speak to the person devising the plan and report back to councillors this month.
