Drugs seized in Carrick and Ballyneale

Gardai seized nearly €5000 worth of drugs in searches of two houses in Carrick-on-Suir and one in the Ballyneale area over the past few weeks.

Gardai seized nearly €5000 worth of drugs in searches of two houses in Carrick-on-Suir and one in the Ballyneale area over the past few weeks.

The latest search conducted on a house in the Ballyrichard Rd. area of Carrick last Saturday resulted in the seizure of €200 worth of cannabis herb.

A man aged in his early 20s was arrested following the seizure of €3000 worth of ecstasy and a small quantity of cocaine at a house in the Ballyneale area that was searched on February 24.

Gardai found €1500 worth of cannabis herb during a search of a house in Carrickbeg on February 20. A man aged in his early 40s was arrested in connection with that drugs find.

Gardai are preparing files on the seizures for submission to the DPP. The searches were conducted by Divisional Drugs Squad and local gardai as part of an ongoing operation targetting the drug trade in the Carrick-on-Suir area.
