Cahir Tidy Towns will hold the first meeting of 2011 in the Shamrock Lounge on Wednesday, January 12, at 7.30pm sharp.
We need to tick off what jobs we completed last year and what needs to be prioritised for the year ahead.
We also have a Bio-Diversity plan in place for the Inch Field and Doctors River where the joint effort between the Anglers , Gun Club and ourselves with the assistance of the Bingo Group and Bill Coffey to migrate wild mallard duck and geese onto the river has proved to be a huge success and we look forward to a similar project this year.
Litter is starting to be an issue again since Christmas and we assume that it is visitors to the town that are creating this mess (as surely everyone in Cahir is aware of the efforts of the Tidy Towns at this stage) but a blitz on some Wednesday evening soon should sort that.
As with every group, we need more and more volunteers to get involved as we need to reach a target of 280 points this year in the National Competition and this is a big ask.
The meetings are informal and only last 50 minutes approx so do come along on January 12 at 7.30pm.
