TREASURE OF THE PANTOMIME - TIPP PANTO TAKE TO THE HIGH SEAS IN SEARCH OF ADVENTURE AND FUN

Shiver me timbers. You 'ere land lubbers are invited to join His Majesty's vessel of jokes 'The Tipperary Pantomime'. Gawd bless her and all who sail in her. You're all press-ganged for the duration of the voyage to witness the Treasure of the Pantomime at the Marian Hall Tipperary. Welcome aboard shipmates we set sail for a deserted island with treasure galore.

This year's pantomime – Treasure Island is based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson, is probably the most famous pirate adventure – a tale of pirates and buried gold, with all the characters and scenes to make it genuinely entertaining for all the family.

The pantomime opens at the Admiral Benbow Inn - a busy tavern even in these recessionary times, where the inhabitants are engaged in good-natured carousing, that is, until Jim encounters Blind Pew who insists Jim lead him to the graveyard where he can find the old sea dog - Captain Billy Bones. This encounter eventually leads to Jim learning of Captain Flint's Treasure.

Soon afterwards the crew is assembled to board the Hispaniola for a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas to a deserted island to find the treasure, unaware of the plans of Captain Long John Silver and his tango of pirate cutthroats.

However, the pirates had not counted on Dame Henrietta Hawkins and co who are involved in their own mischief making, which leads to daft and hysterical interactions with the villains and the audience, and frantic chases through colourful scenery.

There is always great pleasure in watching the villains get their comeuppance while the many children taking part enthusiastically dance and sing from one scene to the next, and evidently enjoying the outcome as much as the audience.

The Tipperary Pantomime Society invites you to join with them again in celebrating and welcoming a new year, to cast aside your worries, sit back, relax, and enjoy the timeless characters of fairyland introduced to us in our childhood as we journey on the Hispaniola to Treasure Island.

It is the wish of all in the Tipperary Pantomime Society that the fun and warmth of this show will stay with you through 2011.

The Tipperary Pantomime Society takes to the stage again this week from Wednesday 12th to Saturday 15th in the Marian Hall Tipperary.
