The Clonmel Hospice Support Group is grateful to all those who supported their recent golf classic, which raised €8,000.

Through all their projects this year the group has been able to contribute €90,000 to the upkeep of its six hospice nurses, who provide a 24-hour service to cancer patients.

“We wish to thank all businesses who carry our Hospice money boxes, and a special thanks is due to the families of bereaved members who make donations through their funeral directors”, the group says.

If you would like to carry a hospice money box contact 086-8510556.

Fran Sheehan, a staunch member of the group for many years, was recently awarded the Paul Harris medal for her outstanding contribution to Clonmel. She has raised an amount of money for Hospice, particularly through the Ladies Mini Marathon in Dublin, when she filled two buses with volunteers and entertained them on the journey.

The Hospice Support Group intends to organise more projects in the coming year and all support for these will be greatly appreciated.
