There was rejoicing in the village when the organising committee gathered to present a cheque to Nurse Marie Bowen of the Foundation.

More than 400 walking enthusiasts from all over County Tipperary and much further afield took part in the event.

Chairperson of the organising committee, Teresa McGarry, thanked everybody who participated in the walk and supported the event for their “supreme generosity.”

She singled out for special mention the Butler family for their initiative, and the Millennium Resource Centre for providing its facilities to the committee.

Glengoole lady Maggie Butler and her Dad, Paddy Butler, Ballynonty, and their families, have been lavish in their praise of the Jack and Jill Childrens Foundation for its support to her son, two year old Alex.

The walk had the very apt title ‘Walk With Alex.’
