A most wonderful under 12 hurling tournament was held in Cahir GAA fields last Sunday, to raise money for the Shaun Fogarty fund.
15 teams participated from Cork, Waterford, Limerick and Tipperary. The standard was very high and the winner of the cup was the Limerick team from Doon in a hugely competitive final with Clonmel Og. The shield was won by Ballingarry, who defeated Carrick Swan. The day was a huge success and this can be attributed to the hard work by the volunteer committee led by Breda O’Neill, Maura Grogan, Tara Armitage, Pat O’Brien, Larry Molan and their team of helpers. 250 players took part and all were fed and looked after by the members of Cahir GAA Club. All funds raised will be donated to the Shaun Fogarty fund.
On Sunday, November 10, Cahir GAA are donating profits from ‘Draw the Joker’ to the fund. The draw will take place in the Hill Bar where Shaun used to work. The Primary Schools parish hurling league starts Saturday at 2.30pm in Duneske GAA field.
