Tipp body discovery believed to be missing man

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body on a farm near Tipperary town yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body on a farm near Tipperary town yesterday afternoon.

The discovery was made at the rear of a house at around 2pm at Fawnagown.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out today at Waterford Regional Hospital, but it is believed the body is that of missing Bobby Ryan, who has been missing for nearly two years.

The scene has been sealed for a technical and forensic examination. An incident room has been established at Tipperary town Garda Station.

Mr Ryan (52) has not been seen since the morning of June 3, 2011. His Citroen van at Bansha Woods, on the day he disappeared.

A truck driver, Mr Ryan also worked as a DJ and was well known across Tipperary by his stagename ‘Mr Moonlight’.
