Martin Browne has described the closure of Cashel Town Council offices, from next year, as a total disgrace.
The closure of the offices leaves the office and ground staff unsure of their future.
Cllr Browne said the closure of the offices will be the death knell for the town. “Up to 35 staff are going to be affected by the closure which is ironic considering the government are calling this new reform ‘Putting People First,” he said.
“This a scandal as this now puts extra costs on people who will now have to travel to Clonmel or Tipperary. Closing these offices will mean also losing the tax office which is a major help in bringing people in to the town in these hard times. This will mean a major loss to businesses.
