Next week sees a most highly respected scholar coming to Cashel to talk to us ‘In Search of South Tipperary Saints’. Prof Emeritus Pádraig O’Riain of UCC in 2011 published his ‘A Dictionary of Irish Saints’ which represents the results of a life’s work and research on the lives, martyrologies and genealogies of the Irish saints. From Abán of Adamstown to Usaille of Killashee, Padraig has researched them all, and will focus his talk on July 16 on his search for the saints who played a role in the story of South Tipp through the ages. Lectures begin at 7.15pm upstairs in the library in Cashel, admission is free, and all are welcome.
