A huge crowd is expected to converge on the picturesque village of Glengoole for the staging of a walk in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation on Tuesday evening, July 16 at 7pm.

Among the organisers of the event is local lady Maggie Butler, Glengoole, who has been lavish in her praise of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation for its support to her son, two year old Alex who was born twelve weeks premature with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy,

She received great help from the foundation following Alex’s discharge from hospital after seventy days.

This fundraising walk is her way of saying thanks on behalf of Alex and herself.

The organisers have received a massive response to the event which commences in Glengoole village and proceeds to Derryvilla Lake before returning to the village centre. The walk is a round trip of 7k, but particpants will have the option of doing the shorter distances of 2, 4, or 6kms should they wish.

The emphasis will be on fun and enjoyment with all monies raised through registration going to the very worthy cause, Jack and Jill Foundation. Registration cards are widely available from any member of the fundaising committee.

If you wish to make a contribution to the fundraiser without participaring in walk you are most welcome to do so.

All contributions will be greatly appreciated.
