The Promoting Cahir Group would like to announce that we will host a Christmas Carol Event on The Square in Cahir on Friday, December 20, from 6pm to 9pm.

The festive event will see carol singing with local choirs and singers on a stage set up for the event and Cahir Brass Band will also perform to give you that Christmassy feeling.

Santa will be there too giving treats to all the children who come along, there will be face painting to delight the young at heart as well as free mince pies, teas and coffees for all to warm up to an denjoy, courtesy of the generous local traders.

Earlier on the same day, and again from 11am to 1pm, Tipp Fm will broadcast live from the Square.

To make the day a bit more special the Promoting Cahir Group are once again running a ‘Shop Local Draw’ where over €10 spent in any of the participating shops will automatically entitle shoppers to free entry into the draw where all entered will have the chance to win one of ten €100 local shop vouchers just in time for Christmas! The draw will take place on stage on the night of the carolling event.

To top it all off that Friday is €5 Friday where up to 30 local businesses will have €5 special offers just for that day to really put you in that Christmas mood.

To encourage you to really get into the festive spirit, on the night there will be a €50 prize for the best Christmas outfit!

Posters will go up in the next few days to give you more details on all items mentioned above, we will also keep you updated in the newspapers.

Patrick O’Donovan, chairman of the Promoting Cahir Group, said: “We hope all the residents of Cahir will have a very peaceful and pleasant Christmas and a happy New Year too. We as traders are once more trying to give a little back to you, our loyal customers; we thank you for your continued support.

“This Christmas event and Shop Local Draw is supported by South Tipperary County Council, for which we are most grateful.”
