Now in its third-year, Cycle Against Suicide starts in Belfast on Monday, April 27th and finishes in Dublin on Sunday, May 10th. Cycle Against Suicide in close partnership with C-Saw South Tipperary are working to make a positive impact in Clonmel and have a number of events in advance of the Cycle to help increase mental health awareness locally and generate local support for the Cycle.
Jim Breen takes on the mammoth task of running the entire route of the annual cycle, 1,400 kms, four weeks prior to the main event.
C-Saw and Cycle Against Suicide will host a mental wellness talk in the Clonmel Park Hotel at 4pm this Saturday, April 4. This presentation led by Jim Breen will spread the message of Cycle Against Suicide - ‘it’s ok to not feel ok; and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help’ and in partnership with C-Saw make people aware of the considerable supports that are available and encourages people to reach out for help.
On Thursday May 7th, the Cycle will be arriving into Clonmel and the organisers are looking for 300 beds to host this year’s participants. If you or someone you know, lives in or near Clonmel and can provide a participant with a bed and meal on Thursday May 7th, please apply through www.cycleagainstsuicide.com/homestay/ or please contact the Local Homestay Coordinator, Frank O’Keeffe – 086 6027619.
There will also be a number of free fun runs/walks in conjunction with Run for Cycle Against Suicide that will be launched by Jim Breen as part of his initiative to run the entire route in advance of the cycle with registration this Sunday in the Clonmel Park Hotel- 7.45-9.00
