The bright and sunny weather matched the mood at Rockwell College last Wednesday as the 106 Leaving Certificate pupils who sat the examinations in June proudly celebrated their examination results.
The achievements were worth celebrating by the pupil cohort of 2015, who performed exceptionally well.
Congratulations in particular to Ellie Drohan, Clonmel for achieving 600 points.
In all, 27% of the Rockwell College pupils achieved over 500 points, in comparison to just 9% nationally, and all candidates were delighted with their results.
There were strong grades achieved across all subjects, with high grades in Accounting, Applied Maths, Biology and Physics and many subjects surpassing significantly the national average grades.
For the pupils who were repeating their exams, the year proved very worthwhile.
The group improved their results by an average of 80 points each, with some registering an improvement of 100 points.
Principal Audrey O’Byrne and Deputy Principal Michael Doyle praised the success, commenting that the results were evidence of the commitment and strong work ethic demonstrated by pupils across all ranges of ability.
