At a recent meeting of Cumann Pierce Mc Cann Sinn Fein Cashel, a presentation was made to Taghd Ó hInce by his good friend Marcus Ó Fogartaigh in recognition of his more than forty years dedicated service to the republican movement.

In his address Marcus gave an outline of Taghd’s commitment to the movement and spoke of his great love of our native language to which he has dedicated most of his adult life through promoting and teaching at all levels.

To this end it was appropriate that he was presented with a gold bound, illustrated, limited edition of Donal Ó Lubai teaching manual titled ‘EIRE’.

Donal Ó Lubai was a travelling Irish teacher working for the VEC in South Tipperary in the 1950s and 60s. The book was his life long ambition and achievement.

Taghd in accepting the presentation thanked Marcus and the cumann as gaelige for the honour accorded to him.

Cllr Martin Browne presented Taghd’s wife Mary with a bouquet of flowers, and both were given a standing ovation from the cumann members.
