On Tuesday, November 15, An Garda Síochána and Tipperary Regional Youth Service launched the Cashel Youth Achievement Awards 2011.

The launch took place in Cashel Community School where members of An Garda Síochána and TRYS were handing out nomination forms to young people and teachers who wished to nominate a young person.

The awards were set up to celebrate and acknowledge young people from the greater Cashel area who are between the ages of 10 and 18. Awards will be considered for nominated young people who by their contribution, presence or activities make their community a better place to live. Nomination forms will be sent out to all schools within the greater Cashel area.

Any member of the public may nominate a deserving young person and you can get a form from Cashel Garda station or Cashel Neighbourhood Youth Project, all forms must be returned to either of these venues on or before Monday, December 5. After the closing date the nomination forms will be given to a panel of judges for them to decide who will go forward to receive an award at a ceremony held in Cashel Neighbourhood Youth Project before the Christmas Holidays. For further information drop into any of the above venues or contact Catherine on 0877726888.
