St. Mary’s Christmas Tree festival was officially opened last Thursday by former Munster and Irish rugby star Alan Quinlan.

Over forty Christmas trees are on display around the church from clubs, organisations and businesses with many different creative themes and variations. “Christmas can be a difficult time of year for many people and community events such as this bring people together and I’m glad I was able to help out with the official opening,” said Alan.

St. Mary’s church is open daily from 2-8pm daily until January 1, 2014, (except December 25, 26, 27), including a traditional music concert on Wednesday 18 at 7pm and a concert by the Tipperary gospel choir on Friday 20 at 7.30pm.
