Under 10 Football:

Our Under 10 team played at home on Friday night last. We were up against Galbally in what could only be described as a very exciting game of football with some great talent shown on both sides. The game had a deserving finish with a draw of 2-4 to 3-1. We would like to thank Galbally for making the journey.

Under 16 Hurling:

Had their second game in the championship at home in Ballyporeen GAA grounds on Thursday 15th last in very bad weather conditions.

Ballybacon started at a blistering pace with 1-2 inside the opening five minutes giving them a very good lead. Skeheen came back acquitted themselves and some well taken scores and good defending saw only two points separating teams at half time.

Skeheenarinky (0-8) Ballybacon (2-4)

At the start of the second half, Skeheenarinky raised their pace and brought the game to level terms. Both teams exchanged scores. With 10 minutes to go, Ballybacon blasted the ball in the back of our net leaving us with only six minutes remaining Ballybacon looked to have victory over Skeheen when John Martin rattled in the closing stages of the game. We pulled ahead by 3 points despite terrible weather conditions, a well deserved win.

Skeheenarinky (1-14) Ballybacon (3-5)

Team: Jason Cahill, William English, Kevin Slattery, Aidan O'Connor, Ben Macken, Seamus O'Callaghan, Noel Vaughan (0-1), Tommy Sweeney (0-2), Eoin Morrissey (0-1), Fionan O'Sulleabhain (0-9), John Martin (1-1), Riain O'Callaghan, Mikey Sweeney, Mikey Macken, Ciaran Cahill.

Under 14 Hurling

Had a busy week last week with two games on Monday 12th, we travelled to Carrick Swan and were defeated on the evening by a better team.

On Friday 16th, we were in action again in Ballyporeen against St. Patricks. It was a very good game which ended as a draw.

St. Patricks (0-7) Skeheen (1-4)

Under 12 hurling

Under 12 hurlers had a home game last Saturday 17th against Carrick Davins at 5pm. Carrick opened the scoring inside the first five minutes of the game when a goal landed in the back of our net. Which was their only score of the first half. Skeheen kept in touch at all times scoring 1-3 before the break

Skeheenarinky (1-3)

Carrick Davins (1-0)

The second half turned out to be a real cracker with the lead changing hands a few times. With both teams showing great determination, in the dying seconds of the game, we were pipped on the scoreline by one point

Skeheenarinky (2-8)

Carrick Davins (4-3)

With only three games left in the championship, it is going to be an uphill battle for our team. We are going to be missing key players due to the holiday season. We will need to play 100% to qualify for a place in the south semi final from here on in.

We have an away game this Saturday 24th in Clerihan at 5pm.

Team: Jack Donovan, Jason English, Fionn McLoughlin, Oisin Brennan, James Hackett, Dylan O'Gorman, Adam O'Donoghue, Josh Macken (0-4), Darren O'Dwyer (0-1), Adrian English (2-4), Aidan Donovan, Thomas Vaughan, Kevin O'Mahony, Sub: Paudie O'Mahony.

Our Juvenile Club was honoured last weekend as three of it's young talented members represented us in underage County Tipperary teams in the Munster Football Finals in Gaelic Grounds Limerick on Saturday and Sunday.

Fionnan O'Suilleabhain comes home with an Under 15 Munster Football medal after a thriller of a day on Saturday. Tipperary beat Cork Team 1, Clare and Kerry. Meeting Cork Team 2 in the Final and coming our Munster Champions after having to fight their way back into the game twice.

Mikey Sweeney and John Martin who represented Under 16 County Football team on Saturday beating Kerry and Limerick played in the final on Sunday against Cork. Tipperary came out on top after a very exciting final, which was only decided after extra time.

These young players have been extremely dedicated to our Club over the years giving it their all every time they play. I have no doubt we will b hearing a lot more from these young players.

On behalf of our Juvenile, we congratulate you all. Well done.
