Big switch-on in Bansha on Friday night

John Lonegan, former governor of Mountjoy prison, will launch the new development on the green in Bansha on Friday, August 22 at 7.30pm.

The launch includes the switching on of the new lights on the green, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque of Canon Hayes switching on the lights in Bansha in 1948 sponsored by ESB networks and a video and display of old electrical memorabilia takes place in Templeneiry Church on the night. All are welcome.

Galbally Garden Fete

Final preparations are now being put in place for the 36th annual Galbally Garden Fete.The 3-day festival incorporates a wide variety of attractions for all age groups including a display by Carron Model Flying Club of Limerick Junction, musical entertainment with TG4 Glór Tire winner Michael Collins and his band, a diverse range of ancillary attractions including open air bingo, the Liam Lynch Memorial Pipe, wheel of fortune, carnival amusements and much more.The Galbally Garden Fete Weekend kicks off with a family forest walk on Friday, August 29, taking in the popular Darby’s Bed Loop.On Saturday, August 30 there is a very special all day Féile Galbhaile, which features set dancing workshops, a ceilí, historical walk led by Jim Fitzgerald and Tim Ryan, story telling by Eddie Linehan and a gala concert which features Bobby Gardiner and other illustrious performers from the world of traditional music.

Rosanna Tennis Club

A Junior Open American Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 23. Entries will be taken on the day. Categories and times as follows: 8-9 years/10-12 noon. 10-11 years/ 12.30-2.30pm. 12-14 years /3-5pm. 15-18 years /5-7pm.

Also Rosanna Tennis Club would like to extend our congratulations to our club members, Therese Keating who won the final of the ladies singles grade five and Ursula Flynn runner up in the ladies singles grade five at the County Club Senior Open Week.
