Council members back Bolton Library proposal

The vacant civic offices in Cashel have beenput forward as a suitable home for the Boltan Library in the bid to prevent the treasure from being transferred to Limerick.

At the first meeting of Tipperary CountyCouncil in Clonmel members supported a motion tabled by Cllr.Tom Wood calling on the Bolton Library to be accommodated as a tenant in the former civic offices in Cashel.

“The council should support efforts to encourage the OPW and the church authorities to relocate the Bolton Library to Friar Street .We dont want to see it leaving its home of Cashel and Tipperary” insisted Cllr.Wood.Cllr.Martin Browne said community groups wishing to avail of the premises should be supported.
