Drangan native Deirdre Hall and her team (Yvonne Ryan, Joanne Lowe, and Edel Smyth) were recognised for their achievements at this year’s 7th Annual Crystal Clear MSD Health Literacy Awards.

They were honoured for their project ‘Diabetes Passport, East Coast Area Diabetes Integrated Care.’

Speaking about the team’s achievement, Deirdre said:

“Diabetes is a complex chronic condition managed by multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) in primary and secondary care.

This project worked to develop a client-held diabetes passport to facilitate their treatment and enable them to manage their condition more effectively themselves.”

“We are delighted to be a finalist at the Crystal Clear MSD Health Literacy awards.

It is an honour to be recognised for our work. The campaign has been a great success and being a finalist means we will gain national recognition for our efforts as well as raise further awareness of our project”.
