Minister of State Tom Hayes T.D is encouraged couples who are planning their wedding to consider the Rock of Cashel as a possible venue for their nuptials.
The Office of Public Works is looking to increase the number of sites which may be offered as locations to intending couples and is currently working with the HSE to assess the suitability of various locations, including the stunning setting of the Rock of Cashel.
Iconic sites such as Newgrange are also available.
Speaking about the news, Golden native Minister Tom Hayes said: “The Rock of Cashel is the most iconic location in Tipperary and is recognised globally. It attracted over 200,000 visitors last year and would make for the most unique wedding venue. I would urge anyone who is planning a wedding in the next year or so to consider the Rock as a venue or indeed the Main Guard in Clonmel, which is also able to host wedding ceremonies.”
He finished by saying: “I look forward to the announcement of further approved locations in the near future, so that couples who intend to hold Civil Ceremonies can avail of some of Tipperary’s most beautiful, iconic and atmospheric venues to make their special day truly memorable.”
