In the autumn of 2013, management at Scoil Ruáin, Killenaule decided to embark on a fund raising initiative for the school with a view to sharing the spoils with a worthy charity.

To this end, the school’s first 5K Fun Run was organised with the Irish Cancer Society as the partner beneficiary.

The Fun Run took place on Sunday, November 11 and saw students and staff as well as a large number of running and walking enthusiasts don their runners to support the school and the charity.

More recently, staff in the school hosted a very well supported coffee morning on ‘Daffodil Day’, Friday March 28 bringing the total sum raised within the school for the Irish Cancer Society to a very impressive €2,200.

Well done to all involved!
