I am writing to thank the people of Co. Tipperary most sincerely for the support they have shown for Trocaire’s work throughout 2013, our 40th anniversary year.

In this time of increasing pressure on household incomes, the public in Co. Tipperary has shown remarkable generosity to, and solidarity with, the world’s poor by supporting our work through our Lenten campaign, Trad for Trocaire and our Christmas Gifts. People from Co. Tipperary also responded incredibly generously to help people suffering through the conflict in Syria and after Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

This support has allowed Trocaire to continue our critical programmes in over 20 countries worldwide that are helping communities to tackle poverty and injustice. In 2012, for example, Trocaire’s work directly benefitted the lives of over 2.7 million people.

Yours,

Eamonn Meehan

Executive Director, Trocaire
