Workshops for Siblings in Tipperary Town

Sibshops in Tipperary Town

Sibshops in Tipperary Town

The Three Drives Family Resource Centre currently plans to host a number of “Sibshops” i.e workshops for the siblings of children with additional needs

These workshops provide an opportunity for brothers and sisters of children with additional needs to talk in a relaxed space and also have some fun. In addition, this space will also provide them with an opportunity to talk about what issues may be important for them surrounding the area of disability.

What happens at a Sibshop, children cook and paint and do lots of outdoor challenges, as well as spend time talking about important issues around disability.

The workshops will be run by four facilitators who work with children in the areas of cookery, sport, relaxation and art therapy (though Sibshops are not therapy!)

The siblings will be divided into three age groups, 5 to 8, 9 to 12 and 13 to 16. There will be four workshops provided per age group, and will be run on a Saturday morning over two months. Times and dates to be confirmed.

If you think that you would like your child(ren) to participate in Sibshop then register your interest with Terry O’Connor at the Three Drives Family Resource Centre, Tipperary Town at 062-80831.
