Abbey India Sweepstake at Thurles Greyhound Tracek
On Saturday September 11, the final of the Abbey India Sweepstake will be held at Thurles Greyhound Stadium.
The qualifying rounds are taking place at present in Thurles. A Buster is being held on that final night. (Buster: 720 tickets sold covering all possible results of a six-dog race; only one winner with the correct finishing combination).
Currently the Abbey students who will be going to work in India are selling the Buster tickets (j10 to be in with a chance of winning and it also covers free admission to the track that night Saturday September 11th). Another enjoyable night is guaranteed following on the successful nights in 2006 and 2008.
A generous sponsor has funded the Sweepstake and the final will be broadcast live on Tipp Mid West on the night between 9 and 10 pm. The final of the Irish Derby from Shelbourne Park will also be shown on many screens throughout the stadium.
Some Buster tickets are still available from the seven students or their parents.
