Austrian Ambassador to Ireland to attend Tipp parade

A plea for volunteers to come on board to assist with preparations for a St.Patricks Day Parade in Tipperary town has been made.

Cllr.Anna Tuohy Halligan called for support at the February meeting of Tipperary Town Council.

She said there were only four people involved in organising the parade this year and they could do with more help.

Cllr.Halligan said they needed more people to come on board as there was just a few weeks left before the event.

The St. Patrick's Day organising team are putting the finishing touches to this years parade and would like all schools, organisations and individuals to get their registrations forms back as soon as possible.

The Parade will take place on Wednesday 17th March at 2.30 p.m. from "The Plan" O'Connell Road, down O'Brien Street and on to Main Street past the review stand situated between the two banks and finish at Lidl car park.

The Austrian Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Walter Hagg and his wife will be special guests on the day, Tipperary Town is twinned with a town in Austria called Mautern for the past five years..

A meeting will be held in Jerry Vaughan's Lounge O'Brien Street Tipperary Town every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. any persons willing to give a helping hand to the committee would be very welcome.
