Beautiful Tipp Town postcards and tourist brochure launched

Six new postcard images of Tipperary Town are now on sale at the Tipperary Excel. The postcards are just one of the project initiatives by a tourism group in Tipperary town made up of representatives from Tipperary Excel, Canon Hayes Sports Complex and the Tipperary T.I.R.D with the support of South Tipperary Town County Council, who came together in an effort to promote the town.

The postcard images feature St Michael's Church, St Mary's Church, a view from the Tipp Hills, a bicycle leaning against a Tipperary Sign at Tipperary Train Station, a beautiful shot of the river and Bridge Street, and a photo of the 'Welcome' "You've come along way" singnpost on the way into town. This postcard with the iconic phrase for Tipperary Town is also on the front cover of the new Tipperary Town tourist brochure, which is also now available at the Excel and is being distributed to major tourist offices in the country.

The brochure, a new map and the postcards will help to raise the profile of the town and district and provide the visitor with easily accessed information and in the case of the postcards, a memento of their visit.

Caitriona Kenny Photography took the photographs for the postcards and the new tourist brochure. Caitriona took over 150 pictures for the project. They can be viewed at www.caitrionakenny.com Framed photographs titled 'Pride in Tipperary Town' will be available to purchase in the Excel at the beginning of October. Previous projects include her beautiful photography the Glen of Aherlow and surrounding villages, including the Emly Tidy Towns 2010 calendar to celebrate their national win.

The Tipperary Excel, the lead agency in this project, is very excited by its progress to date and are looking forward to the new Tipperary Town tourist website. The group gratefully acknowledges the support of the South Tipperary Development Company in making this possible and the many people locally who have taken advertising who helped bring this project to fruition.
