Burglars target Clonmel homes
Gardai investigating a car accident near Bansha are seeking help from any witnesses.
Burglars stole laptops, jewellery and cash from a house in Clonmel last Friday while an alarm frightened away criminals attempting to break into another house in the town a day later.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the Ard Gaoithe and Ard na Greine residential areas of Clonmel last Friday and Saturday respectively to contact Clonmel Garda Station.
The house in Ard Gaoithe was broken into while its residents were away on Friday beween 7am and 4pm. Two laptops, jewellery and a small quantity of cash were taken.
The following day, burglars attempting to enter a house in the Ard na Greine estate between 4pm and 6pm took fright and fled when the burglar alarm went off. No property was stolen from the house.
Sgt. Tom O’Dwyer of Clonmel Garda Station said investigating gardai haven’t yet established whether the same criminals are responsible for both break-ins and are not currently following any definite line of enquiry.
He urged anyone with information on the crimes to assist the Gardai with their investigations.
