Busy season starts for Cahir Tidy Towns

Cahir Tidy Towns Group is already busy preparing for the coming season of judging.

At present they are organising to get the baskets planted to be ready in May. They have also been busy with the power hose and will get to some painting in the near future. Don’t be worried if you see some unusual colours on walls around the town, these are only undercoats from the paints that we have recycled from their Paint Recycling Day!

They are full steam ahead with their “Take Me Out Cahir” night which takes place on Saturday, April 6, in Cahir House Hotel. They still have some vacancies for ladies and gents to participate in a bit of fun and all considered from 18 to 80.

Next week they hope to start the Memorial Garden at the steps to the Dovecote and anyone wishing to plant a shrub in honour of a loved one can do so for the cost of the shrub. These will be provided on the day by our landscaper.

A date and time will be announced and names are taken for the shrubs with the Chairman. Why not plant a shrub in memory of a family member or friend that is not from the area so that you have somewhere to visit and remember them. Tidy Towns also hope to enter the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and create awareness of Tidy Towns and the work that they do.

They will meet as normal on Wednesday at the hut at 7pm. Contact Andy on 0863609110 for details on any of the activities mentioned.

Reminder that Cahir Development Association AGM is on Monday, March 25, in Duneske Leisure Centre and as Cahir Tidy Towns is a subcommittee of the group, all members are requested to attend to propose our accounts and sanction our officers for another year.
