Carrick-on-Suir Town Council has been accused by one of its elected members of dragging its feet in relation to house extensions being sought by the residents of nine homes in Treacy Park with kitchens that are so small it’s not possible to walk by an open an oven door in them.

Fianna Fail Cllr Kieran Bourke has expressed frustration at the lack of action by the Town Council since December last year in progressing the project to a stage where an application can be submitted to the Department of Environment for funding.

“We are dealing with people’s lives here and they shouldn’t be left on hold like this,” he complained.

Cllr Bourke made his comments after Carrick-on-Suir Town Council informed him that a report on the house extensions would be presented to the Council’s next Housing Committee meeting in June.
