Clonmel Rotary’s Christmas evening will benefit local charities

Christmas is creeping up on us – and to ensure you’re well prepared, get your ticket now for this year’s Rotary Club of Clonmel charity Christmas Food, Wine and Flowers Evening.

It’s being held this year on Wednesday, December 5, at Raheen House, Clonmel, at 8pm sharp. Tickets are on sale now and going fast – the event has been a sell-out for the past two years, so get yours now.

The night will feature seasonal cookery demonstrations by chef Jenny Flynn of The Sweetest Thing Cookery School, Clonmel, with lots of tastes for the audience.

The Wine Buff will be presenting wines ideal for Christmas dining and entertaining, all available at their store in the Honey Pot in Clonmel.

And renowned local florist Ann Fitzpatrick will be demonstrating a number of festive arrangements to brighten your home and table for the season.

Everyone in the audience will get a great goody bag to bring home, and there will be a raffle with lots of wonderful prizes.

It’s the perfect pre-Christmas night out for groups of friends.

The recession has made it much more difficult for small local charities to raise funds – at a time when they need them more than ever.

So the Rotary Club of Clonmel has decided to donate the funds from this year’s Christmas evening to four charities: CARE Cancer Support Centre, Clonmel and District Wheelchair Society, South Tipperary Multiple Sclerosis, and St Anthony’s Unit.

Tickets for the Food, Wine and Flowers Evening, priced at €20 each, are on sale at O’Sullivan Insurances, Mitchel Street; Clonmel Office Centre, Market Street; and Cluain Restaurant, Nelson Street, all Clonmel.
