County Council adjourn following bereavement

South Tipperary County Council adjourned it’s monthly meeting, on Monday morning, as a mark of respect to the family of Cllr Tom Acheson, whose father recently passed away.

Vice-chairman Michael Murphy convened the meeting for a short time, before adjourning to allow members attend the funeral of Mr Charles Acheson.

Mr Acheson died last Saturday. His funeral took place following requiem mass at St John the Baptist Church, Powerstown, at noon on Monday and was followed by burial in Rathronan Cemetery.

Councillors stood for a minute’s silence in memory of Mr Acheson.

A special meeting of the County Council will be held on February 20, to complete the adjourned agenda.
