Diploma in Disability Studies

A few places are still left on the Diploma in Disability Studies, which will take place in Clonmel later this month. This is a new programme in Clonmel offered by the Centre for Adult Continuing Education in UCC.

The aim of the Diploma in Disability Studies is to enable students to develop a critical awareness of the factors operating in the world of disability, to become aware of the ways in which different issues overlap and to explore ways of working around these.

The course is designed specifically for adult learners and assessment is via various individual and group assignments. UCC is working in partnership with the National Learning Network to host the programme locally.

It is a two year part-time course that will run on one evening per week for 3 hours and on successful completion students will be awarded a diploma at NFQ Level 7 (minor). Social welfare recipients may apply for a 25% fee reduction from

UCC.

The final closing date is September 14th. Applicants must be 21 years of age in January on the year of application.

Those interested should contact Mike Masterson on 087-6910091 or mikemasterson1@gmail.com for details or application forms as soon as possible.
