Fethard was hit by severe flooding following torrential rain on Sunday night.
The Clashawley river burst its banks and flooded a large area in the shadow of the historic
town walls.
Homes were also flooded and families had to leave as the water rose.
The area under the town walls where the medieval festival was planned for this weekend
was completely under water and there are fears that it may not take place if there is more
rain between now and the weekend.
