Halla na Féile Annual Meeting

The annual general meeting of Cashel’s Halla na Feile took place last week.

At the AGM of Halla na Feile held in the Halla, on Thursday last, Chairman Sean Murphy paid tribute to his fellow officers.

He had a special word of praise for the hard working secretary, Ellen Ryan for the many projects she spearheads - The dancing which is a great success, and the Cashel & Rosegreen Journal.

Sean also paid tribute to the joint treasurers Paddy Downey and Jean O’Dwyer for their great commitment to the Halla. The Bingo committee, who, week in week out, keep bingo going so successfully and the patrons who support it, came in for great praise too.

The Chairman added his thanks and appreciation to all the volunteers who help make ‘Social Dancing’ a great success and thanked also the dancers who come from far and near to dance on the ‘best dance floor in Munster’ in Halla na Feile.

Sean went on to thank the many contributors of interesting articles and photographs to the ‘Journal’ and thanked the people who buy it to keep for themselves or to send to friends and family abroad.

Halla na Feile is a community hall and, as such, the chairman said it is very good to see it being used by so many clubs and organisations in the town.

The front door of Halla na Feile is open almost every day for activities such as radio, rehearsals, dancing classes etc.
