Man arrested in connection with robbery

Gardai arrested a man aged in his 20s last week in connection with the robbery of a service station in Carrick-on-Suir.

Gardai investigating the robbery of the Primo Service Station on John Street are now preparing a file to submit to the Director of Public Prosecutions arising from the arrest of the local man.

He was arrested on Tuesday, January 22 under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and questioned at Clonmel Garda Station before being released.

The Primo Service Station was robbed at 8.15pm on the previous Tuesday, January 15.

A man, who had his face covered, entered the service station shop and demanded money from the two staff members present. He escaped from the premises on foot with the takings of the cash till.
