New appointment

A drugs abuse prevention and support scheme based in Carrick-on-Suir has appointed a new project worker.

Maureen Walsh has joined the Suir Valley Community Drug Based Initiative located at 56 New St., Carrick-on-Suir.

The seven year-old programme runs education programmes for parents and young people, provides information on services available to people battling drug abuse and offers support to individuals and families dealing with drug addiction.

it also runs a a family support group and an auricular acupuncture clinic two evenings a week as an aid to detox and stress relief for addicts and their concerned family members. Out of hours addiction counselling is also available through the SVCDBI.
